Chapter 3
After I finished speaking, I wanted to leave, but Laurence blocked my way. “Georgie, what do you mean by this?” I frowned. “It means literally. If you don’t understand, look it up in the dictionary!” Laurence’s face suddenly turned cold. “Georgie, do you dare to bet with me? Bet on who can cure Dale’s leg. The loser kneels down and admits defeat and is not allowed to enter Akso City from now on!” I paused and turned to look at him. “I can bet with you, but I won’t cure Dale. I will cure Miss Angela of the Austin Family! In ten days, let’s see whether you can make Dale stand up or I can make Angela wake up. Laurence, do you dare to bet with me?” As soon as I finished speaking, the scene exploded. “Didn’t Miss Austin become disabled? This is much more difficult to cure than Dale’s leg.” “Yes, if the Austin Family hadn’t spent a lot of money to keep Angela alive, Angela would have been dead long ago.” “If Mr. Richardson can make Angela wake up, it would be a miracle in medical history!” “A month is short enough. How can ten days be possible?” Hearing the discussions of the people around him, Laurence’s eyes flashed. “I promise you, with so many people here as witnesses. Georgie, you can’t regret it if you lose.” I curled my lips. “I won’t lose.” Dale smiled, as if mocking my arrogance. “Angela is already a living dead woman. You can’t even cure my legs and you still want to cure Angela? Georgie, if you admit defeat now, I can consider not driving you out of Akso City.” My eyes passed over her legs without leaving a trace. “Dale, medicine is three-point poison, be careful that Mr. Russell’s medical skills are too superb. Don’t let you get some strange disease again if you fail to cure your legs.” After saying that, I turned and left. Laurence was just a college student who graduated from finance and his parents were ordinary workers. It was simply a fantasy to say that he had the means to cure Dale’s paralysis. That night, the news of our bet spread throughout the Akso City. Some people even opened a bet on who would win between me and Laurence. In order to encourage Laurence, Dale bet 1 million dollars on him to win. The next morning, Mrs. Austin took me to the hospital. I took out the blood medicine I had prepared in advance, lifted Angela’s head and carefully fed her to drink. It would take at most seven days for Angela to wake up. “Mr. Richardson, thank you. Whether Angela can wake up this time or not, our Austin Family will remember your kindness. You can raise any needs and we will do it if we can,” Mrs. Austin said and was about to kneel down to me again. I hurriedly supported her. “Mrs. Austin, I don’t want to save Angela for anything, I just want to win. Don’t worry, I will definitely make Angela wake up.” Mrs. Austin was moved to tears. “I also heard about the bet between you and Laurence. Our Austin Family bet 1 million dollars on you. When the time comes, both the principal and interest will be delivered to you. Mr. Richardson, don’t refuse this. This is what you deserve.” Just as I was about to speak, I saw Laurence pushing Dale toward me. “I wonder why you took the initiative to save Angela. You are really after the Austin Family’s money.” Laurence stepped forward to advise Mrs. Austin. “Mrs. Austin, don’t be fooled by Georgie. He can’t even cure Dale’s leg. How can he wake Angela up? Be careful not to end up with nothing.” Mrs. Austin looked impatient. “I believe in Mr. Richardson, so please don’t bother, Mr. Russell.” Being ruthlessly despised by Mrs. Austin, Laurence’s face turned pale.
