Chapter 4
Mom kept prostrated, “Miss Cooper, since Charles once saved you, please let him live! I beg to you!” Anne just turned her head away, “Charles, if you don’t want your mother to get into trouble, just go with me obediently.” I almost gritted my teeth, “Okay, I’ll go with you.” She saw the hatred hidden in my eyes and was stunned. After a moment, she suddenly pulled off the amulet on my neck. As if she was holding back her anger, she said, “It’s useless for someone like you. You’re worthless. Leave it to Stanley!” My eyes were red with anger, “Anne, that’s what my father left me. Give it back to me!” How could she not know? In the previous life, I tied this amulet around her neck with great care on the day she gave birth. I said to her, “Anne, the year I was born, a priest said that I had a disaster in my life. My father knelt and climbed three thousand steps to ask for this amulet for me and told me that I couldn’t leave the amulet. Now I give it to you and I hope you and your child are safe.” But after I died, she burned it and all my belongings. Hearing this, Anne paused slightly and the next second, she strode away. *** I was thrown in the corridor of the hospital. Anne whispered in my ear, “Just apologize and let the Gordon Family forgive you. I can still keep you working in the Cooper Family.” After the words fell, the door of the ward opened and Stanley’s parents walked out with gloomy faces. “Are you the servant?” Mrs. Gordon rushed over and kicked me to the ground. “It’s all because of you. My son will be a disabled person for the rest of his life! You are a worthless life, why should I let my son go down to save people?” Several men rushed over and kicked and beat me. I felt that my limbs were in pain as if they were about to break apart. “Enough.” Anne came over, as if she couldn’t bear to see the wounds on my body, “Go and apologize to Stanley.” Blood flowed from my forehead and my sight was blood red. The coldness in her eyes loosened a little and she subconsciously reached out to help me wipe the blood off. I dodged and staggered to stand up. “Will you let my mother go as long as I apologize?” I asked her. Anne clenched her fist, “As long as Stanley forgives you, I promise that nothing will happen to your mother.” I nodded and walked into the ward. The people outside immediately locked the door of the ward from the outside. An hour later, I walked out again. Anne’s eyes widened when she saw me, “Charles! You!” “Mr. Gordon has already vented his anger, you can let my mother go.” After saying that, I fainted on the ground. I had many deep wounds on my body and there was almost no good skin on my forehead, limbs and body. The nurse who came to bandage me couldn’t bear to look at it. Anne put a thermos bucket in front of me, “I heard that you had a fever before you came. Eat something. I made it myself.” How ridiculous, in the last life, I doted on her so much that I even had to remove the seeds from the watermelon before feeding her. In this life, because of Stanley, she actually took the initiative to cook. I turned my head away, “Miss Cooper, I’m out of my temper now, can I leave now?” Her face suddenly changed and she threw the thermos bucket heavily to the ground. “Charles, what’s the tone of your voice? If you hadn’t left me alone, Stanley wouldn’t have had to go into the water to save me and nothing would have happened! Don’t you like me? Why didn’t you save me?!” I just said in a light tone, “How can a lowly servant like me like you? Miss Cooper must have misunderstood.”
